Advantages && Disadvantages of anime/manga

Disadvantages

Some anime or manga contain explicit language, nudity, and graphic gore scenes, as mentioned earlier in this topic. Some people can find this as a disadvantage, if they are scared of blood, or maybe against nude pictures. Others may find this as an advantage, but if you are too young to be exposed to these things, then it is most likely found as a disadvantage of anime. Not all anime or manga is safe for children. Anime may also keep someone watching the TV all day, and it could hurt your eyes. Also reading manga in the dark could hurt your eyes, and when reading manga, people usually are too lazy to turn on a light.

Advantages

Some anime may teach you something you did not know. Anime may open your mind to a new perspective of things, as well. For me, anime opened my mind to a creative side I had never shown before. Since I started watching anime, I have improved much at my art.

Anime Ratings

Like movies, anime is rated. Rated, as in, "PG" or, "PG-13". Remember, things get more graphic with the higher rating. Such as with "adult content", or a lot of gore. Like in movies, Anime is rated the same way. Some animes contain things like curse words, nudity, or a lot of violence. Other animes are kid - friendly, with things such as fairies, unicorns, and rainbows.

There are also animes based by a genre, like "fantasy", or "romance". The most popular anime genres are romance and action, which usually have something to do with fantasy anyway. Many animes are pretty perverted, and even the most popular ones include at least one perverted character. Luckily, there are anime for people of all ages, so many different people can enjoy anime regularly.

Vocal Talents and Acting

There are many vocal talents out there. Most of the people who play the part of a character in a japanese animation are considered celebrities, because it is acting. Like how we have some cartoons, the vocal talents of Adam Sandler may be nice to you. Adam Sandler is also an actor, like Vic Mignogna. Vic Mignogna is popular for his acting in "Full metal alchemest", playing Edward Elric, "Full metal panic" as Kurz Weber, "DNangel" as Dark, and many other parts in many poplular animes. Like many cartoon actors, he is popular in many ways, even out of anime.

No one really acts in animes. Anime are usualy, obviously, animated. These are cartoons with the vocal stylings of celebrities. Anime is not always considered cartoons or animations, since some have actual people acting. The producers of an animation and the people who write the anime novels, also known as mangas, usually watch for destinct voices for a person in an anime.

Cosplay and Conventions

Many people are fond of something called cosplay. Cosplaying is dressing up, like in a costume. These people who cosplay are sometimes called "otaku". Most people dress like a character from Naruto or Bleach, the most popular action animes around. When people are dressed in cosplay, they usualy tend to act out the part of that character, if they are true Otaku. It's hard to make a good costume, mostly for the more complicated anime outfits.

There are many cosplay outfits out there- and even conventions. Anime conventions are called "anime cons" for short, and it's not surprising to me that hundreds of people come to these conventions. Some of these conventions have contests, for those who have made their own costume. Most anime conventions are held in Japan, where anime was born. A few of these conventions are Naka-Kon, Mizuumi-Con, and Anime Land Wasabi. The up coming conventions for these are actually in places like Colorado, Missouri, and even Texas. All across the world, anime cosplay is popular. This meaning Anime and Cosplay conventions are popular. At these conventions, there are sometimes the celebrities who speak the voices of the anime characters. The most popular of these english Vocal talents is Vic Mignogna. It's also exciting to meet someone who speaks the voice of an anime character is just like meeting a singer or an actor, an amazing feeling of excitement.
